This is the Most Common Cause of Hair Loss: His and Hers

Pelo Baum Hair Loss Solution

What causes hair loss? Normal balding (involutional alopecia) is a natural condition that affects most people with age. It’s normally not a big deal. It’s just when hair follicles naturally go into a resting phase in advanced old age. Androgenic alopecia, however, is a fairly similar process, but it happens when you’re much younger. Also called pattern baldness, it affects many men – as early as their teenage years and twenties. And it affects roughly one in four women in their 40s or later.

Now, there are other, much rarer causes of hair loss. Like with psychological disorders and autoimmune diseases. But with these there will usually be other, way more prominent symptoms that something’s wrong, not just hair falling out.

THE MOST COMMON CAUSE OF HAIR LOSS

We now know that pattern baldness is by far the most common reason for hair to fall out. And it’s a major concern for many people around the world. Because it affects men and women, often at crucial stages in life. And it can have devastating effects on your self-esteem and confidence.

Here’s what’s happening inside the hair follicles during pattern baldness hair loss. And how you can reverse the process if you start early enough.

HOW YOUR HAIR AND HAIR FOLLICLES WORK

We all have about 100 000 to 150 000 hairs on our heads. And they do fall out. Losing up to 100 [1] hairs a day is perfectly normal. And the hair themselves are made from keratin that’s produced by cells inside each hair follicle.

Follicles produce new keratin cells and build it onto the base of each hair. So, as the follicle adds cells to the hair’s base, it grows upwards/outwards, through the scalp. Usually at a rate of around 15cm per year[2] . Now, the hair itself is essentially a string of keratin protein. And the follicle is where all the magic happens. That means that, when something goes wrong with the hair, the problem usually lies inside the hair follicles.

HAIR LOSS AND DHT

Incidentally, the reason more men lose their hair is testosterone triggers hair loss – and men tend to have more of that hormone. With pattern baldness, testosterone enters the growth centre of the hair follicle. Here, an enzyme called 5-alpha-reductase (an important factor in the body’s androgen and estrogen production) binds hydrogen to the testosterone.

The follicle basically converts testosterone into a new form: dihydrotestosterone (DHT[3] ), which strangely is “poisonous” to the cells inside the hair follicle itself. DHT kills the cells that line hair follicles on contact[4] . So the hair follicles shut down, just like they would have done in old age.

WHY DOES IT AFFECT WOMEN?

Women naturally have much less testosterone than men, but it is there. A woman’s ovaries produce both estrogen and testosterone. And, even though testosterone levels fall (just as most estrogen falls) after menopause, we still see the same process of testosterone converted into DHT in women around age 40 causing pattern baldness.

In fact, it’s well known that women who have elevated levels of testosterone will often experience frontal balding (hair loss in the front of the head). Fortunately, the treatment for both men and women of any age is the same: block the formation of DHT and protect the cells inside the hair follicles. The only thing is, you have to start treatment as early as possible.

YES, NO MORE HAIR LOSS WITH PELO BAUM

Some men and women are just genetically more predisposed to this type of early balding. Lamelle offers a highly specialised hair-care solution that can reverse the effects, if you start treatment early enough. That product range is Pelo Baum.

Hair Loss Solution

Made with a patented mix of cutting-edge biomimetic (simulating your body’s own enzymes) peptides, Pelo Baum has been proven to decrease the formation of DHT and reinvigorate the cells inside hair follicles. Encapsulated active ingredients penetrate deep into the scalp where they’re even able to stimulate near-dormant hair follicles into growing hair again.

PELO BAUM IMPROVES HAIR THICKNESS AND DENSITY

In various studies, the Pelo Baum complex improved hair density in those suffering from hair loss by 83%. It also increased hair health and thickness by a remarkable 114%.[1]

NOTE: IT’S IMPORTANT TO START TREATMENT EARLY

Although Pelo Baum’s remarkable effects in reducing balding and even reactivating hair follicles is proven, you have to start treatment as early as possible. When the process of hair loss starts, the DHT kills cells inside the follicle and it becomes dormant (that’s when the hair falls out). And it only stays in this dormant stage for a short period before the follicle actually shuts down completely (it dies). And, at that point, nothing can resurrect it again.

So, as soon as you or your doctor feel like this is premature balding, you have to initiate treatment to rescue as many existing hair follicles as possible.
