Lamelle Research Laboratories is a South African biotechnology research company that manufactures products that are innovative and evidenced based. Started in 2007, the founders have over 25 years of medical and pharmacy experience to bring a unique perspective to the industry.

Lamelle’s core business was originally in medical aesthetics, and has diversified into pharmacy.

Lamelle’s extensive success has come through its philosophy and commitment to the principle that all products developed must undergo a rigorous programme of review, research and meticulous production. This combined with the continual search and use of innovative patented ingredients and formulas has brought Lamelle success and will continue to be at the core of Lamelle’s progress.

Dr Bradley Wagemaker
Medical Director

Dr Bradley Wagemaker is the prodigy behind the development of Lamelle’s innovative and often first to market skin care products. A specialised medical practitioner registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa, Dr Wagemaker’s extensive knowledge of the body gives him a unique perspective into the science of skin care. His pursuit of excellence is enviable and he will stop at nothing to achieve the perfect formulation – always ensuring that Lamelle delivers on its promise of evidenced-based innovation. He specialised in Medical Aesthetics, research and development, and has extensive clinical research experience in the fields of postmenopausal gynecology, endocrinology and critical care medicine. He continues to fulfill these medical aspirations through Lamelle’s pharmaceutical division. He held research positions with various multinational pharmaceutical companies before founding Lamelle Research Laboratories with Tony De Barros.

Tony De Barros
Sales & Marketing Director

While responsible for the overall strategic direction of the business, Tony De Barros heads up the Lamelle Sales and Marketing division. Not afraid of hard work or taking calculated risks – Tony is an entrepreneur with a drive that has seen him excel in whatever he puts his hand to. It’s this passion and his business acumen that over the past 11 years has helped build Lamelle into a true South African success story. With close on 30 years’ experience in sales and marketing, of which 17 have been in the pharmaceutical industry, Tony has what it takes to prosper in what is a challenging and competitive industry. Throughout his career his natural focus has always been on creating partnerships with customers and ensuring the best possible service and outcomes are achieved. He has continued to operate by this code and it’s one of Lamelle’s many distinguishing hallmarks.
